This was well received by Racing Queensland, with Lachlan Murray explaining that discussions were underway and RQ have no reservations in making realistic changes.
The QGRC CEO had already initiated changes on his first inspection, which aligned with our presentation. Some were quick simple and immediate changes, other will take some time.
Immediate Changes
The stepladder has been replaced with a safer platform for staff safety.
Identified for high priority resolutions.
The holding kennels in full sun will be shaded and water available prior to the Ipswich Summer.
Arrangements are bing made to investigate if taps and hoses can be available at the edge of the car parking area to enable immediate hydration for greyhound post racing and during trial sessions.
Options for the black car park surface and bright concrete surface to reduce burns to paws during the Ipswich summer are being discussed.
Longer term resolutions
Power to the car park area for to reduce CO2 generator exhaust is unknown at this time.
Straight track Lure system replacement, reconfiguration is unknown at this time, but not dismissed.
Q Straight gate.
The QGBOTA proposed the moving of the gate, as per the diagrams.
The option of a split two piece gate was also proposed to ensure a faster closing time and to account for the Ipswich high wind events.
The QGBOTA acknowledges that the proposals put forward are not definitive but to encourage options and solutions to be discussed.
